Add two easy ingredients to Pillsbury sugar cookie dough for a holiday treat that's as simple as it is sweet.
Ingredient
- 1 roll (16.5 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookie Dough
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Step 1Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Add chopped almonds; knead into dough with hands until well combined.
- Step 2Reshape dough into 12-inch log. Using sharp knife, cut log into 24 (1/2-inch) slices. On ungreased cookie sheets, place slices 2 inches apart.
- Step 3Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks.
- Step 4While cookies are still warm, dust evenly with powdered sugar. Garnish tops with sliced almonds.
Recipe Tips
- Chopped walnuts, pecans or hazelnuts can also be used in this recipe.
- For best results, run cookie sheet under cold tap water to cool before baking each batch.
